Connection Information
Latency to Server
If the latency is high (150ms+) you can try to select a server closer to your location. Default server TURN03, and TURN04 is located in the Netherlands. But there are servers in the US, UK, India, Singapore and Australia.
If you are using 4G and connecting to the closest server, please also check if you are using a "Roaming SIM card" or if you are using the right APN for your provider. Some providers will route the traffic to a location far away from where your Cellular or Bifrost unit is located, bringing up the latency.
Video Status
If no video signal:
If the status says "No signal" the Bifrost is not receiving any screen output from the computer or device attached to it. You can try to force either "HDMI" or "USB-C" under settings to change to either port.
Check also the video cables, and if using USB-C, make sure that the device connected to the Bifrost unit is capable of outputting video (DisplayLink alternative mode).
If the video is not showing the same as the computer's monitor:
The Bifrost Unit acts as a secondary screen. You must therefore "Clone" or "Duplicate" the screen before you will see the same picture on the Bifrost if the computer is set to "Extend" any extra monitors.
In Windows you can use the shortcut Win + P to switch between the modes.
For BIOS Access:
For BIOS level access some computers like laptops need the lid / internal screen closed. This is a laptop limitation and not a Bifrost limitation as the laptops can only output to one screen at a time, before the OS has loaded.
How to: Turn on the laptop and quickly close the lid and it will switch to external video output. You can now enter the BIOS or other pre-OS interfaces.
Video performance:
If you need to increase performance (not latency) you can click on the setting "Video Quality" and then select Medium instead of High. This will decrease the picture quality but provide 25-30fps instead.
Data Usage
A Bifrost Unit typically (on highest quality) uses about 700-800 MB of data per hour. You can also lower this with the Quality setting to Medium or Low.
Another data saving tip: if you need the session running but don't necessarily need the picture at the moment, you can select another video output than you are using right now. This will result in a black screen and almost no data consumption at all.
So if you are using HDMI, select USB-C and vice versa.
